Teen Health Clinics 


Teen Health Clinics exist to increase access and availability of teen and youth sexual and reproductive health services.

Goals of the clinics include:

  •  Decrease unintended pregnancy rates & repeat pregnancies for young women, and a decrease in low birth weight babies born to this group. The service is targeted to women aged 23 and under.
  • Decrease in Sexually Transmitted Infection rates, reduction in the time between disclosure of pregnancy and access to various options and resources, linkage to referrals to mental health, Alberta  Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, Healthy Family Resource Centre, and Healthy Moms Healthy Babes program, and an increase in access to lab, diagnostic imaging and urgent care
  • Increase in receipt of emergency contraception within 24–120 hours of unprotected intercourse
  • Greater client capacity to make informed decisions related to healthy reproductive choices

The clinic operates from the local physician clinic
