Many exercise programs exist for the general population, but Kristen offers classes for people with chronic health conditions such as chronic pain and fatigue, arthritis, heart conditions or diabetes, as well as people who are new to exercise and need some guidance on how to get started.
If you can’t make it to class, or need a more personalized approach to your activity program, she also provides one-on-one physical activity counselling. A referral from a health care provider is required for this service.
She finds that many of her students are intimidated going to a gym or a regular exercise program, but in her classes, no matter your size or health condition, you can exercise and you're supported by other people who are on a similar journey.
Her classes are designed to be gentle, focusing on the four aspects of physical fitness: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance and flexibility. As participants become stronger, they can do things they couldn't do before and have better management of their chronic health conditions, allowing them to stay healthy and active for a lifetime.
